It’s only a couple of weeks until the Fall TV meeting and we’ve been trying and trying to write a blog post on new shows we’re actually excited about and it’s been pretty difficult because there really aren’t any.
We refer you instead to this post by the always wonderful Margaret Lyons: http://www.vulture.com/2015/09/stay-tuned-fall-tv-himym.html who knows exactly what’s up.
We’re reasonably interested in seeing if Scream Queens turns out to be the train-wreck we’re all expecting. Ryan Murphy is probably not the genius everyone thought that he was – and by everyone we mean American Network execs.
Talking of Ryan Murphy – we’re intrigued by American Horror Story:Hotel. Intrigued enough to give the first episode a go, but reserving judgement because season 4 got so boring we couldn’t even finish it. Mostly we just want to see what Gaga is going to do.
The other new show that we’re actually stoked on isn’t premiering until October 31st (so doesn’t really feel like proper Fall Schedule stuff) Ash Vs The Evil dead looks super amazing. Only a crazy person wouldn’t want to see Bruce back in his best role ever. If the trailer for the show is anything to go by we’re in for a treat. Also, pretty sure this is what Todd and The Book of Pure Evil was going for.
We’re also a little curious about the CW remake of the incredible Cordon – renamed Containment for a US audience. This curiosity stems from wondering how badly they’re going to deviate from the original storyline. They’ve already made all the characters 10 times more attractive, but we love a load of CW shows so we’re willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. As long as it’s not as bad as The Bridge remake that is.
Like we said, it’s a pretty feeble Fall Schedule. This isn’t a huge surprise though, last year the networks held back almost all the good stuff until midseason.
Next week we’ll be back with the returning shows you should care about list, which is longer and better, so don’t be disheartened.
If there’s anything you think we’ve missed that you actually are excited about PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let us know.
